THE Desruisseaux Football League hosted what has been dubbed as “Clash of the Titans” when first division team TiRocher FC (TFC)came up against President Cup semifinalist El Ninos FC in the first knock out semifinals on Sunday 7th October 2018 at the Desruisseaux playing field.
TFC scored three unanswered goals in the first 40 minutes of play with MoliceLubran, Gary George and Dwayne Mason getting on the score sheet in the 15th, 22nd, and 37th minute respectively.
El Ninos created a few opportunities but were unable to get on the score sheet as the half ended 3 – 0.
On the resumption El Ninos came into their own and reduced the deficit with a goal by Gerlannie Neptune in the 65th minute.
El Ninos kept applying the pressure in search of a second goal but outstanding defending by TFC for the remainder of the match kept them at bay as the final whistle sounded the end of regulation time, ushering TFC into the finals with a 3-1 victory.
Tomorrow from 4.00 p.m. in the second semifinal, Lion Heart will play DX United. The winner of that encounter will play TFC in the finals on Sunday 14th October at the DPF.
