He spoke against the backdrop of a sudden spike in Covid-19 related cases over the past weeks. So far, the island has recorded a total of 656 cases; with the latest update from the Ministry of Health on January, 18 reporting a total of 35 new cases of COVID-19.

Speaking to reporters at a press briefing, on Thursday, Jn. Baptiste said the government‘s treatment of its returning nationals has been ‘shambolic’, citing the latest complaints from a returning artiste who had experienced some immigration and protocol difficulties upon entering the country.
