The Saint Lucia Postal Service has informed customers of the closure of the General Post Office as of Monday, November 23, 2020.
According to a release from the Post Master General, one of the employees has tested positive for COVID-19. “We are currently working with the Ministry of Health to undergo the contact tracing of individuals identified as being in close contact with the affected employee,” the release stated.
“By way of safeguarding the general public and staff members of the General Post Office, Management took the decision to keep the office closed during the above-mentioned period.”
Together with an apology, the release encouraged customers to visit the other Post Offices which are available islandwide.
The General Post Office is expected to reopen the following Monday.
