Association representatives present for that initial meeting on Tuesday 22nd October 2019 in the ministry’s conference room expressed the view that the 39th Annual National Sports Awards was a success, and commended organizers for sticking to the two and a half hour duration time for the event as was promised.

The upcoming awards will be held on Saturday 15th February 2020 at a venue to be confirmed shortly.

Associations were advised that the deadline for submissions of nomination forms is Friday 27th December 2019.

The awards document which included the nomination form was presented at the meeting. Forms will also be distributed via the Ministry’s email address: [email protected]. Receipt shall also be by this medium.

During the meeting national associations were reminded of their annual subvention for the 2019/2020 Government fiscal year, and that associations will be required to be more accountable in order to receive the allocation. They were also reminded of stipulations for assistance from the Saint Lucia National Lotteries Authority (NLA).
