Motion, Papers and Bills on Today’s Parliamentary Agenda

A SITTING of the House of Assembly is scheduled for today (Tuesday, January 29th, 2019) with Papers to be laid by: the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Economic Growth, Job Creation, External Affairs and the Public Service, the Minister for Commerce, Industry, Enterprise Development and Consumer Affairs, the Minister for Tourism, Information, Broadcasting, Culture and Creative Industries, the Minster for Infrastructure, Ports, Energy and Labour, the Minister for Economic Development, Housing, Urban Renewal, Transport and Civil Aviation, the Minister for Equity, Social Justice, Local Government and Empowerment, and the Member for Castries East and Leader of the Opposition.

The Motion for consideration is as follows: BE IT RESOLVED that this Honourable House expresses its total lack of confidence in the leadership of Hon. Allen. M. Chastanet; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Honourable House calls for the immediate resignation of the Hon. Allen M. Chastanet as Prime Minister of Saint Lucia.

The following Bills are also down for consideration: International Business Companies (Amendment); International Partnership (Amendment); International Trust (Amendment); Income Tax (Amendment); Finance (Administration) (Amendment); Customs (Control and Management) (Amendment); National Honours and Awards (Amendment); Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation Headquarters Agreement; Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic (Amendment); Trade Export Promotion Agency (Amendment); Tourism Stimulus and Investment (Amendment); and Castries Constituency Council. Today’s Sitting is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m.

Meanwhile, the next sitting of the senate is scheduled for Thursday, January 31th, 2019 at 10:00 a.m.
