1,000-Plus Students Walking Today

THIS year’s theme “Healthy Bodies for Energetic Minds” will be the lead banner on the road this morning (Thursday) from 10am, as 1,000-plus students from eight primary schools within District ll will participate in the 11th annual event.

The purpose of the walk is to sensitize the schools’ population within the district and members of the general public about healthy lifestyle.

Today’s event also kicks-off the school sports calendar of activities to include their sports meet schedule for Friday 8th March at the Daren Sammy Crick Ground.

The participating schools are Canon Laurie Anglican Primary, Gordon and Walcott Methodist School, Carmen Rene Memorial School, Vide Boutielle Primary, Morne Du Don Primary and host Camille Henry Memorial School.

The route is: Camille Henry Memorial School, left to L’ Anse Road, right onto Desir Avenue, Left onto Serenity Park, Right Onto Mc Vane Avenue, Left by Rambally Funeral Palour, Left onto Julian Charles Drive, Right onto Desir Avenue, Left onto Morris Mason Avenue, Right onto Carnation Drive, Left onto Hibiscus Crescent, Left onto L’Anse Road – back to Camille Henry Memorial School.

Before journeying on their route, the students will be addressed by various stakeholders.

Upon return, they will be entertained by Shemmy J, Michael Robinson and Ezra D’ Funmachine.

Also on the cards are: jump rope, soca fit and karate demonstration.
