PRESS RELEASE – The General Secretary of the Saint Lucia Civil Service Association (CSA), Claude Paul, has said that he is disappointed with the performance of Senator Mary Isaac as Minister of Health and has questioned whether she deserves to be paid as a member of cabinet.

Isaac is a former President of the CSA.

“Here is someone who is a former President of the CSA, at the time a strong advocate for workers rights and for general welfare of workers and at this point in time to have workers subjected to the kind of conditions that they have to endure at St Jude, at Victoria and the other health facilities, is really an indictment of her,” Paul told reporters Tuesday.

The CSA General Secretary observed that Isaac has not been saying anything.

“She has been very quiet,” he declared.

“For someone who was a champion of workers to now be  very quiet and say nothing, either way is really disappointing,” Paul told reporters.

“The vast majority of public officers who would have supported her at the time are seeing her in a completely different light today,” he asserted.

According to Paul, the statements Isaac makes are hardly worth listening to.

“I really don’t know that the money we spent to pay her – is it worth it? I am not sure about that,” he stated. (CSA)

  1. Am I to see one General Secretary of the CSA, vs a former General Secretary
of the CSA at the next general Elections? but the former is not an elected person.
Who then is at work here? The sooner VH is able to transfer to the new Hospital the
better for everyone, but damn it, give it time; be thankful you have a better one waiting.
As for a properly design/built Hospital in Vieux Fort, I’m sure one is in the works; give it
time. I personally would like to see this so called Stadium be Bulldozed to the ground and
the ground be serviced for something like – Industrial – Commercial – Institutional or something else.
