Silver Shadow Dancers Exhibit at the Grand Finals of the National Dance Festival in St. Vincent

Silver Shadow Performing Arts Academy has collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in St. Vincent through an invitation to showcase its dance Exhibits as special Guest performers at the grand finals of the biannual National Dance Festival in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from the 4th to the 7th October 2018.

A young and talented group of dancers from Mainly the Main Company B of Silver Shadow Performing Arts Academy will be travelling to this cultural exchange in St .Vincent. The selected Dancers are students from Various Secondary School who are also theatre Arts Students. These students will be participating for the first time at such a regional Cultural exchange.

The Silver Shadow Delegation as part of the Cultural exchange will be touring a number of Schools in St. Vincent and will display through performance a taste of St. Lucia traditional dances and sharing St. Lucia culture. The Big night of the Grand Finals of the St. Vincent National Dance Festival, the Silver Shadow Dancers will exhibit a 40 minute dance Repertoire. Silver Shadow dancers will make presentations in the following dance categories such as Creative Folk, Modern and contemporary dance, Afro Caribbean Dance and Traditional Dance

The Artist Director of Silver Shadow Mr. Barry George believes that exchanges such as these Dance festivals are important for the growth of young upcoming dancers and gives them an opportunity to showcase their talents. This will be the first time that this group of dancers participate in any dance festival such as this because St Lucia no longer stages dances festival, the last dance festival held by CDF which featured local dance troupes was in 2014.

This talented group of dancers under the leadership of Artistic Director Barry George have been in intense rehearsals for over a month as they look forward to representing St. Lucian dance. On this trip they hope to build regional alliances, share knowledge and celebrate artistic expressions through dance. The delegation left St. Lucia on Thursday 4th October 2018.

The delegation consists of the following, Barry George Artistic Director, Crystal Octave Team Chaperon and Makeup Artiste, Trean Phillip, Chrisla Emmanuel, Murissa Inglis, Leshaun Joseph, Marlia Crick, Zoya Xavier, Keshan Xavier, Anya Sargusingh, Nyla Alexander, Xada Samuel, Bianca Herman, Dahlia St. Jules and Rebecca Louis.
