Second win for Saint Lucia in CONCACAF women’s football

SAINT LUCIA continue their winning ways in the CONCACAF under- 15 women’s tournament currently taking place in Bradenton, Florida. On Tuesday 7th August 2018, they defeated the Bahamas 2 – 0 to secure their second victory.

Goals were scored by Arnika Louis and Krysan St. Louis (captain).

Saint Lucia will play their final group stage match against Cayman Islands today.

The Saint Lucia squad reads – Krysan St. Louis (captain), Renala Francis, Grace Alcide, Raquel John, Yana St. Hilaire, FreegeaneJn Baptiste, Geean Henry, ShuquanFontenelle, Sabrina Avril, Giana Hilton, Cassandra Shepherd, Shaniya Scott, Alvina Francis, Tanika Bernard, Kyra St. Louis, Arnicka Louis and VerniceCelise.

While in Florida, the team is under the watchful eyes of head coach – Jamil Joseph, Assistant Coach -Denis Didier, Technical Director – Cess Podd, Team Manager – Chrisie Harris and Head of Delegation – Emmanuel Bellas.

Meanwhile, Grenada trounced Saint Vincent and the Grenadines 5 – 0. Shonika Phillip scored twice with a goal each from Britney Charles, Melania Fullerton, and Monique George. Goalkeeper Sabrina Rennie had a clean sheet and is also seeking to do likewise when they meet Anguilla today.

Coach Alana Francis was very commendable of the player’s performances and now wants the team to set themselves the goal of advancing to the knockout stage.

Should the team win their zone, this would be the first time a Grenada under 15s would have advanced beyond the group stage.

Grenada leads the group with six points and a superior goal difference followed by Anguilla and Dominica, with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines occupying the cellar position.
