Whiptail Warriors Maintain Winning Ways

WHIPTAIL Warriors maintained their winning ways as the second round of games in the Michael Mathurin Rugby Challenge Tournament organized by the Saint Lucia Rugby Football Union got off to an exciting start at the Grande Riviere playing field on Saturday April 28, 2018. Despite a change of venue due to some last minute unforeseen circumstances, that did not deter the organizers or players.

Players and supporters alike turned up as the event went on to be another keenly contested set of games with the teams and individual players displaying passionate rugby and great sportsmanship which kept the crowd entertained.

In the men’s division, the Whiptail Warriors RFC once again owned the day by dominating their opponents Rogues RFC and VBCC RFC in both encounters.

Try scorers for Whiptail Warriors were Tyrese Samuels, Nazim Cox, Tarvarey Stanislaus, Zayvon Agustin and Dwayne Nathaniel.

Try scorers for Rogues were Ernie Julien and Ethan Philips while the lone scorer for VBCC RFC was Oscar Gabriel.

In the women’s division, the Body Holiday RFC overcame their opponents Whiptail Warriors and VBCC RFC in both encounters.

Try scorers for Body Holiday RFC were Renetta Fredericks, Marline Chery and Electra Marcelle while try scorers for Whiptail Warriors were Mary Roberts, Chantel John and JermiahEvariste.

The lone scorer for VBCC RFC was ShenaSt.Mark.

The Final round is slated for this Saturday 5 May at the La Clery Playing field from 4.00pm.
