NWU Concerned About Influx Of Security Guard Companies Into Saint Lucia

PRESS RELEASE – THE National Workers Union (NWU) says it is extremely concerned about “an influx of security guard companies into Saint Lucia.”

In a press release yesterday, the union’s President General Tyrone Maynard said, “They are suddenly raising their heads and operating on the island.”

According to the NWU President General, “Some of these companies are treating their employees with disdain and some of these company officials do not have work permits.”

The union leader also noted, “These officials are involved in a ‘nose cutting exercise’ that has workers looking for employment in that sector losing their long-term employment benefits.”

The President General said his union National Workers Union has written a letter to Labour Minister Stephenson King, requesting his “immediate attention in this scandalous affair.”
