Congratulations Dr. Greenidge!

This award honours a counsellor educator who exemplifies excellence and innovation as an instructor in the classroom. Dr.Greenidge was nominated by her students (past and current) and colleagues, and competed against counsellor educators throughout the United States. Emphasis was placed on achievements, attention given to innovative teaching techniques and dedication to encouraging critical and independent thinking.

In their nomination letters, Dr.Greenidge’s students and colleagues described her as the gold standard for the teaching-learning process; an educator who provides an outstanding level of knowledge, insight, and supervision unparalleled by any other instructor at the university. In every course, she fosters a safe learning environment where creative expression and diversity of ideas are encouraged.

She has an effortless ability to motivate her students even with challenging material and addresses each one of her students holistically, with genuine interest and empathy. Her unfailing dedication and the high professional standards that she maintains for herself and her students made her even more deserving of this award. She has an impeccable work ethic and moral compass, with an inspiring passion towards advocacy.

Dr. Greenidge consistently earns outstanding student evaluations, yet it is the interactions outside the classroom that speak the most for her skills. Her students shine, in that they are confident, respectful, self-directed and professional. She is widely known to be an excellent mentor to many of her current and past students and was recently selected as a mentor for the ACES International Student and Faculty Interest Network (ISFIN) and serves as the Co-Chair for the SACES International Counseling Interest Network. As an educator, she has numerous publications and continues to facilitate workshops at international, national and regional levels.

Dr. Greenidge also previously earned the Outstanding Faculty Award at the University of South Florida and is a very accomplished counsellor educator. However, one of the qualities that students especially admire and appreciate is her humility. Nominators for the award described her as one of the most authentic and humble individuals in the profession.

One student wrote, “I have had numerous professors with different backgrounds and expertise. It is with great admiration that I recognize Dr.Greenidge as the best professor I have had in my entire life. Her student-centered instructional approach, her creative techniques and her passion for the profession are contagious and I only wish that I can one day become as wise, dedicated and skilled as she is.”
