Artist Circle’s ‘Pick Your Spot And Paint’ Continues

ON Sunday, August 27, The Artist Circle of Saint Lucia, hosted a Paint Out Event entitled “Pick Your Spot And Paint”.

This is the second event of many scheduled to take place in the coming months. The first “Pick Your Spot And Paint” took place at Serenity Park on the last Sunday of July and was attended by various artists who came out to support this initiative.

The August 27 event was held at Morne Fortune, at Prevost Park, where the artists were thankful for the beautiful weather and enjoyed the amazing atmosphere and scenic views which the area lends itself to, giving the perfect elements for a Paint Out.

The Artist Circle was founded by Gary Butte and Ken “Scotty” Lawrence in May, 2016. Many other artists joined to form this organization as they saw the need for it.

The aim of Artist Circle is to help raise the awareness of art through public exhibitions and facilitate art workshops and other forms of activities that will involve the many artists island- wide in order to showcase their work to the wider public. The group would like to also advocate for the artists as a group by being able to approach the private and public sectors to lobby for concessions and collaborations wherever possible.

The Artist Circle is now in the process of structuring the group and will be rolling out the schedule of events in the near future.

The upcoming “Pick Your Spot And Paint” event will be taking place on Sunday, September 24 at Prevost Park, Morne Fortune, Castries. All artists are welcome and can walk with their sketch pads, canvasses, drawing and painting materials, chairs, snacks and water.

Artists who work in various mediums and disciplines are welcome to join the group and become members.
