18 More Ports Police

EIGHTEEN recruits have been added to police department of The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA).

For several months the Department has been functioning below capacity and recently came to a final decision to add some new members to the team.

The 18 new recruits added to the force are: FirminVernege, JermellRoserie, Adrian Mathurin, Pius Samuel, Edd Montoute, Shayne Francois, Jochelle Joseph, Anna Aimable, Dwight Monrose, Adrian Stanley, Cassandra Justin, Earlan Joseph, Kirk Esnard, Marshall Degazon, Ikey Harrow, Eldine Charles, Yannick Leon and Kerlinus Evans.

A ceremony to induct the recruits into the training programme was held on Monday and commenced with an opening prayer, followed by some welcoming remarks by the Chief of Port Police, Mr. Kennedy Francis. Mr. Keigan Cox, General Manager also gave some remarks expressing the importance of the job as it pertains to the up keep and smooth running of the country’s sea and airport operations.

Corporal PhilbertCollymore then followed with a brief summary of the Port Police recruitment course and allowed the participants to introduce themselves to the group. Deputy Chief of Port Police, Mr. Michael Placide closed off the ceremony and announced the commencement of the training programme.
