Football Wins for Laborie, V-Fort South, Desruisseaux, Micoud

MATCHES continued over the weekend in the Saint Lucia Football Association Under – 21 and 1st Division Tournaments, at different venues around the Island.

At the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Vieux-Fort on Saturday, all four zonal teams were in action. In the first game of the evening, Laborie came from 1 – 0 down to defeat Choiseul 4 – 1. Ceejay Smith opened the scoring for Choiseul in the second minute, but from then it was all Laborie with two goals from Eddie Modeste and one each from Dornan Edward and Francis Joyeau.

In the second encounter, Vieux Fort South defeated Vieux-Fort North 3-1, with all of Vieux Fort South’s goals coming in the first half from the boots of SarnSavery, Nyrone Winter and Ricardo Miller. Vieux Fort North’s lone goal came via a penalty converted by Alvinus Myers.

On Sunday, at the PMG in 1st Division action, Young Roots and R.V. Juniors played to 1 – 1 draw. Kendal William scored for Young Roots, while Nicar William found the equalizer for R.V.Juniors.

The second encounter between Platinum and Ciceron was not played as Ciceron failed to turn up..

At the La Ressource playing field, in Under – 21 action played on Sunday, Desruisseaux edged out the Mabouya Valley by 1 – 0, while Micoud defeated Mon Repos 5 – 1.
