THE most spectacular Latin event of the year Salsa Extravaganza hits St. Lucia once again from November 25 – 27.

The event takes place over an entire weekend and consists of exciting and informative Latin and Kizomba Dance Instruction Workshops, the electrifying welcome party, stimulating and thrilling gala event inclusive of a show and a party..

Salsa Saint Lucia, a local non – profit Latin Dance organization has developed a reputation over the years for delivering the ultimate in Latin and Kizomba dance instruction and parties. Salsa Saint Lucia activities take place all year long and includes but is not limited to dance instruction classes, charity parties, dance parties and dance workshops. These events are all in keeping with the organization’s mandate to promote health, fitness and social development in St. Lucia through dance.

The Extravaganza one of Salsa Saint Lucia’s most anticipated and acclaimed flagship events, brings to Saint Lucia regionally and internationally acclaimed Latin Dance, Kizomba and Semba instructors, DJ’s and performers from Martinique, New York, Barbados, Washington DC, and Trinidad to provide quality instruction to all levels of dancers and non-dancers.

The workshops are tailored in such a way that even someone with absolutely no previous dance exposure or experience can learn as the simple dance methodology is in line with Salsa Saint Lucia’s catchy tag line “Anyone can dance”. The programme entails five hours of Beginners workshops especially designed for those who believe they have “two left” feet. The dance instruction workshops will be held at Bay Gardens Hotel on Saturday November 26 and Sunday November 27 from 10:00 a.m.

This year the highly trained and skilled instructors who will be facilitating the dance workshops are highly sought after Latin dance Guru Shaka Brown from Washington DC. Also teaching is Kizomba and Semba specialist Jeff Jerome also known as Jeffery Kizomba from New York. Also sharing their wealth of extensive dance experience are our very own regionally acclaimed Phillip Clarke, Cuban Salsa master from Barbados, Frederick Phillipy and Christine MonginKizomba/Semba King & Queen from Martinique and Bachata Experts from Trinidad & Tobago Leon and Aliyah Brewster.

Salsa Extravaganza also offers another exciting dimension to its patrons in the form of various Latin and Kizomba parties that take place throughout the entertaining and fun filled weekend. The Salsa weekend commences with a welcome party on Friday November 26 hosted at Keebees Bar in Rodney Bay. This is a free event and the public is invited to come enjoy magnetic Latin Kizomba Caribbean fusion type music from various genres played by talented local and regional DJs. Salsa Extravaganza climaxes on the Saturday November 26 with a gala event at Indies Night Club in Rodney Bay, which consists of a dance showcase with remarkable performances from our skilled international, regional and local dancers. The show is followed by an electrifying Latin/ Kizomba dance party.

This year Salsa Saint Lucia has added another exciting event to the Extravaganza schedule in the form of a Latin/Kizomba Pool Party, which kicks off November 27 at Ocean View Hotel in MassadeGros Islet. The party, was added to the calendar in response to numerous requests and feedback received from Latin and Kizomba fans, friends, students and followers.
