The Bankers Association of Saint Lucia announces new banking hours for Friday banking. The new banking hours on Fridays, approved by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
This change in hours of operation which takes effect from Friday, October 7, 2016 represents the harmonization of banking hours in territories across the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU). From this effective date, all member banks in Saint Lucia will share similar operating hours as the rest of the ECCU banks. Banking hours from Monday to Thursday, however, remain the same.
Customers are encouraged to continue to utilize the alternative convenient banking services inclusive of online banking, mobile banking, automated teller machines (ATMs) and debit and credit card services offered by all member banks.
Employers are encouraged to sign up for electronic payroll products to eliminate the need for employees coming into the banks to cash cheques. Funds will be placed directly on employees’ accounts which can then be accessed via debit card at ATMs and Point of Sale terminals.
