DESPITE the low turnout at the St.Lucia Basketball Association games currently taking place at the Beausejour Indoor Practice Facility a new champion will be crowned this evening when the action resumes with the final encounter in the three match series in the KFC National League Division 1.

It is all to play for when Basketball for the Future and Run N’ Gun clash with only the 2016 championship trophy and goal medals at stake.

Run N’ Gun is expected to come out firing like they did in game one with the likes of Gillan Joseph, Tim Baptiste, Shem Jn Marie and Rahim Auguste, but BFTF following their 22 point win in game two and still bubbling after levelling the series, also have a chance to hoist their first major title in local basketball, the likes of Jervais Antoine, Germaine Cox, Clive Virgil, Timothy Gabriel, Cassim James and Paul Hippolyte have grown in confidence and have finally got it right both in defensive and offensive and have learnt how to keep a clinical eye on the clock as well.

In a do or die situation last weekend at the same venue, BFTF came out firing as they defeated Run N’ Gun 73 – 51 in game 2. It was all business for BFTF as they were definitely not ready to go home. They came out full throttle and left nothing to chance.

Jervais Antoine was the KFC Player of the Game with 18 points and 10 rebounds to send the championship into Game 3.

Meanwhile, Courts Jets have regained bragging right in the Premier League. The defending champions defeated longtime rivals VBCC Warlords 71 – 62. Jets came out in game 2 and played like they were not leading this series 1 – 0. VBCC Warlords offence faltered some and unfortunately they were unable to tie the series. The Warlords have placed 2nd in the tournament for at least five times.

The KFC Player of the Game in that encounter was Joel Polius with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
