GROUPS and individuals living in challenging circumstances in St. Lucia will benefit from a donation by a group of corporate partners, including CIBC FirstCaribbean, as part of the National Community Foundation’s annual telethon.

This is the 13th year for NCF Telethon which raised $147,000.00. The bank recently presented its cheque to the NCF’s Michelle Phillips.

The NCF is a non-governmental organisation charged with making a difference in communities island-wide through empowerment and social improvements.

Through its annual telethon the organisation is able to raise funds needed to positively impact a wide cross-section of socially disadvantaged persons including youth at risk, the elderly, and underprivileged children who will benefit from scholarship programmes, the homeless, persons with disabilities, as well as persons with serious medical conditions.

CIBC FirstCaribbean’s Country Manager, Ladesa James-Williams said: “We place a high value on Corporate Social Responsibility and doing our part to better the lives of those around us, whether through our own programmes or by partnering with organisations that support the wider community as well. The NCF is one such entity that has made a consistent positive impact in our society, since its establishment in 1979, and so it is a natural fit to lend our support. We look forward to continuing to support St Lucia through this association and others like it.”
