TOURISM Minister Dominic Fedee headed the island’s delegation to the three day Saint Lucia Global Association Meetings in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, which ended yesterday.

The Minister briefed delegates on his government’s immediate, short term and long term plans to reenergize and revitalize the tourism industry and encouraged members of the diaspora community to continue to be front line ambassadors for the island.

The Saint Lucia Tourist Board has over the past few years been running a very successful programme in the diaspora dubbed “Se’ Sanou.” Saint Lucians in the Diaspora are in a unique position to build tourism through Culture and Heritage, and actively champion the growth and sustainability of the main economic sector of Saint Lucia.

The programme is a marketing initiative between the Saint Lucia Tourist Board (SLTB) and Saint Lucians, that deepens the collaboration through a partnership approach towards showcasing Saint Lucia as the vacation destination of choice in the island’s lead source markets of Canada, the US and the UK.

The delegation in Atlanta included Director of Tourism Louis Lewis.
