Series Resumes In Vieux Fort, Choiseul.

AFTER a two-day break, the Vizions Entertainment Super League Football Tournament enters day six tomorrow with double headers in Vieux Fort and Choiseul .

TheVizions train will whistle its way to the La Fargue Playing Field in Choiseul for the first time for a Group 3 stage match-up. South Castries will want nothing less than a win to stay afloat after losing to Central Castries 2 – 0 in their opening game when they played La Clery at 2:00 p.m. La Clery defeated Gros Islet at home 1 – 0 on Tuesday evening.

In the second encounter Choiseul will play their first match in the tournament in front of their home crowd against Gros Islet at 4:00 p.m

Down at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds in Group 1 – Anse la Raye will play their third match in the tournament when they meet Mon Repos from 5:30 p.m.; Anse la Raye are currently on one point, while Mon Repos has drawn both of the games played so far with two points in the bag.

From 8:00 p.m. Vieux Fort North will come up against Soufriere . Both teams are on three points following wins in their opening encounters.

Meanwhile, in matches played on Wednesday evening, Soufriere defeated Anse la Raye 2 – 0 at the Phillip Marcellin Grounds with goals from No.19 Nickson David in the 27th and 35th minutes . In Game No. 2 at the same venue Mon Repos and Dennery played to a goalless draw.

At the La Ressource Playing Field the organizers had to reschedule the Marchand and Babonneau, Mabouya Valley and Canaries double headers to Thursday because of the Darren Sammy and Johnson Charles T20 celebrity cricket match at the same venue.

It was pandemonium on Thursday evening at the La Ressource Playing Field as a crowd estimated to be in the region of 3500 was on hand to take in the second match between home team Mabouya Valley and Canaries..

Mabouya Valley took the lead in the second minute of play when No. 9 Yveslin Eugene shot home a low right footer past the Canaries custodian to the delight of the many fans. The visitors never for once allowed their shoulders to drop as they quickly equalized via the penalty spot in the 19th minute through No.14 David Henry after a foul was committed by the MV custodian on a Canaries striker in the area.

Decked in their customary blue and white attire Mabouya Valley surged to the lead again with double strikes from No. 8 Vernon Abbott in the 26th and 30th minute to make it 3 -1. For the Mabouya Valley fans it was all over, sealed and done, but that was not to be as Canaries No.8 Steven Longville 37th minute and extra time goals made it 3 – 3 at the end of the first half.

On the resumption it was all to play for as the two teams came out firing. But the evening really belonged to the Canaries team as No. 14 David Henry made it 4 – 3 to give his team the lead for the first time in the encounter and to silence the crowd for a brief moment.

At that point Canaries had moved into Turbo gear as they out-run Mabouya Valley with some accurate passing and strong defending by their captain No. 2 Bradley Tisson. Canaries stretched their lead again this time through their No.16 Donavan Jn Baptiste in the 63rd minute to seal a remarkable come from behind victory. Final score 5 – 3.

Meanwhile, in the first encounter Babonneau defeated Marchand 1 – 0 with a goal from No.7 DoniciousInglis in the 55th minute.
