Sammy, Charles Clash In Belair Festival Today

A huge crowd of cricket fans is expected to converge at the Belair Playing Field today as the South Castries Cricket Association celebrate ICC World Champions Darren Sammy and Johnson Charles in a T20 Festival Match from 1:00 p.m.

The two teams Jono Cobras and Sammy Lions will be captained by West Indies T20 Captain Darren Sammy and team mate hard hitting opener Johnson Charles. The Windiesduo represent South Castries locally in the national senior division competitions.

To date the Jono Cobras have signed up businessman Patrick Clark, sportscasterKensonCasimir, national Under -19 all-rounder CollinusCallender and South Castries Under – 19 captain and national Under -19 player Kester Charlemagne.

The Jono Cobras have also added to their line-up national female player Maria David, Dental Surgeon Dr.Atef Daniel, as well as former national players Alleyne and Alvin Prosper and Esau Gabriel.

Up to press time yesterday, the Sammy Lions were busy with signings of their own- Radio personalities Scady P and Coaks, as well as football analyst and sportscaster Tennyson Glasgow, former national youth players Mario Lawrence, Dwight Thomas, Tonius Simon, former national wicket keeper batsman Gasper Prosper, former national player Wade Clovis, former national youth player Stephen Naitram and national female youth captain Nerissa Crafton have been signed up by the Lions.

Bamboo Springs will contribute EC$50.00 to the South Castries Cricket Association for every boundary hit on the day, while Domino Pizza will contribute EC$100.00 for every 6 hit out of the park.
