LOCAL business, Jus’ Sail, the only Caribbean company represented within the fifteen finalists nominated at this year’s World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Tourism for Tomorrow Awards, which saw applications from 62 countries across all continents is heading to Dallas this week for the WTTC Global Summit.

The WTTC with Chief Executives of some one hundred of the world’s leading Travel & Tourism companies as its members has a unique mandate and overview on all matters related to Travel & Tourism on the world stage.

As one of the three finalists in the “People” category husband and wife team James and Pepsi Crockett are being flown to the event by the WTTC to be part of the awards ceremony taking place on Thursday.

For those wishing to show their support and feel a part of the ceremony the event is being streamed live on the WTTC website http://www.wttc.org/ so you can log in and see the awards as they happen, at midday local time.

The Tourism for Tomorrow Awards programme celebrates business leadership that works towards a more sustainable future of the tourism industry by educating and inspiring governments, travellers and other tourism businesses.

The 15 finalists in five categories, which were chosen after a rigorous judging process, showcase the highest level of sustainability practices within the Travel & Tourism sector. As such, Jus’ Sail are extremely proud to be in Dallas representing their students, volunteers, staff, supporters AND flying the flag for St Lucia in this global forum.

Jus’ Sail wishes to thank all its supporters who help make the programme possible and the volunteers who offer their time and expertise to impart knowledge and inspiration to the students. Without whom none of it would be possible.

Jus’, Sail’s Pepsi Demacque-Crockett summed up the companies feelings before the event “We hope to bring back the Winners Trophy, but if that is not the case, we already feel we have won by simply being recognised within such a large global awards scheme and hope that this will inspire others to commit time and resources to nurture local youth to ensure a sustainable future for them and our island’s tourism industry.”
