Big Win for Ciceron, Big Players

Twenty two goals were scored over the weekend when the St. Lucia Football Association in conjunction with the Gros Islet Football League continued the Guardsman Northern Zone Under – 14 Championship at the Grand Riviere Playing Field.

On Saturday, three games were played with wins for GMC, Fond Assau and Big Players. In Game 1. GMC defeated Reduit FC 3 – 0. GMC United opened the scoring in the 4th minute through Ajani’ILansiquot. Noah Lynch doubled the scoring in the 23rd minute to leave the half time score line 2 – 0.

On the resumption Reduit FC with their usual crowd support behind them made several attempts to pull one back, but GMC despite the relentless pressure coming from Reduit FC was still able to squeeze one past the Reduit FC custodian in the 52nd minute through Samuel Evans to collect all three points for his team.

In Game two, a double strike in the 9th and 14th minutes of play from Fond AssauShadline Noel was enough to give them a 2 – 0 win over T Valley.

The final game of the day saw Big Players winning 4 – 1 over Super J Northern United.  Joachim Johnson put Big Players ahead in the 29th minute with a right foot strike that eluded the Super J Northern United custodian to end the first half of 1-0.

On the resumption,  Mervin St. Romain put Big Players further ahead  in the 46th minute. Two minutes later  Ethan Regis was on the score sheet  to make it  3 – 0, and Joachim Pascal sealed the deal in the 57th minute with a penalty strike.  For Super J Northern United the lone goal was scored by Jahlil Evans in the 60th minute.

On Sunday, Ciceron Seagulls trounced Lancers 5 – 1. The goal scores Alex Hippolyte and Rashuad   Eugene each scoring two goals and Val Yarde with one goal.  The goal for Lancers was scored by KhailanVitalis.

First Touch/Pioneers defeated Valley Soccer 2 – 1.  The goals for First Touch/Pioneers were scored by Ryan Joseph and Shaquan Nelson, while DenylJn Baptiste pulled one back for Valley Soccer .

In the final game for the day B1 Juniors had the better of VSADC 2 – 1. The goals for B1 Juniors were scored by VandelGreenidge and JayauxJn Jacques, while Simeon Francis scored VSADC lone goal.
