Walk For the Cure Tomorrow

READY. Set. Walk! The fourth annual Walk for the Cure in aid of both the St. Lucia Cancer Society and Faces of Cancer, will be held tomorrow.

The walk coincides with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s CIBC Run for the Cure, and will be held in each territory CIBC FirstCaribbean operates throughout the Caribbean.

The Walk for the Cure has been met with increased corporate support and engagement with a number of sponsors coming on board showing their support of our cancer society and support group. Regional sponsors include Ernst & Young, Fujitsu, Guardsman, Massy United Insurance, Tata Consultancy Services and Sandals.

Gold sponsors are Digicel and Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort and silver sponsors include LIME and M&R Ltd.

The bronze sponsorship level includes AnseChastanet, Bay Gardens Beach Resort, Blue Waters, BRAWO, COURTS, Felly Belly, Floissac Lawyers, Greene & Associates, Massy Distributors, Rituals, Sea Island Cotton Shop and Touch Therapies Day Spa.

Country Manager, Ladesa James-Williams notes that, “thanks to the generous support of our sponsors we have already eclipsed funds raised in 2014 and the monies will be used to cover cancer treatment cost for St Lucians who are bravely battling and living with cancer. We wish to again thank our sponsors and also thank the hundreds of residents that registered for the walk and look forward to a great day on Sunday.”

It’s not too late to show your support as fundraising activities and donations continue throughout the month of October, and include enticing raffles, bingo, book sales and bake sales. Donations can be made through donation tins at any branch of CIBC FirstCaribbean, as well as deposits to account number: 106995550.
