Being Sold Short

THE EDITOR:
I agree with the sentiments expressed in your editorial of last weekend, but you fell woefully short, Mr. Editor.

It needs to be said that some of our key officals have become national embarrassment and not for the first time. Really, it demonstrates how careless we, the people of St Lucia are, when we allow all kinds of people to hold important positions in our country. I blame us St Lucians for standing for it, but I blame the Prime Minister more for imposing this character on us.

Some will tell you that there is no position to which the ordinary man and woman of St Lucia should not aspire and I would agree, but I would also say that there are positions that are deserving of special people to fill them and under the St Lucia Labour Party we have been repeatedly sold short in the selection of persons to fill esteemed positions both in the Cabinet and in the parliament.
