FOLLOWING on the heels of last week’s launch at the Palm Haven Hotel in Rodney Bay, the new is that the St. Lucia Volleyball Association and LIME are partnering yet again to bring The North America, Central and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Beach Volleyball tournament to St. Lucia.

The St Lucia Stage of the 6th edition of the NORCECA Circuit is scheduled for October 14 – 19, at the Pigeon Island National Landmark.

Local male and female teams will come up against teams from the USA, Canada, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Central America and the Caribbean.

The St. Lucian contingent is training hard as they prepare to go head-to-head with formidable opponents in the competition and, once again they aim to make St. Lucia proud. They will be vying for valuable points and to win qualification for International FIVB tournaments and ultimately gain entry into the Rio Summer Olympics in 2016.

In addition to providing the SLVA with a cash contribution, LIME is helping with advertising and promotion of the games via radio and TV broadcasts to fire up the home crowd and motivate them to come out and support Team St. Lucia. LIME is also providing free Wi-Fi wireless high-speed internet access at the Pigeon Island National Landmark, along with technical support to facilitate communications throughout the tournament.

LIME Commercial Lead, Cheryl Francis said: “We are very excited to be renewing our partnership with the St. Lucia Volleyball Association for this year’s tournament. LIME has a long and proud association with the SLVA. We share their passion for getting the youths involved in the game and using the tournaments as a springboard to inspire our up-and-coming volleyballers and hopefully propel them into becoming the next generation of Olympic stars.”

Brian Louisy SLVA President said: “LIME has been consistent in helping to create opportunities for our talented young players. It is a great honour for St. Lucia to be hosting this prestigious competition, which gives us the chance to show the world the vibrant volleyball culture we enjoy here in St. Lucia and showcase the amazing talents of our players. For this, we wish to thank LIME for their loyal support over the years.”
