Two SMC Bats Score Massy Hundreds

ST. MARY’S College advanced into the semi-finals of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Massy United Insurance Under-19 Schools Cricket Tournament after completing a massive 235 run victory over Ciceron Secondary at the Gros Islet Playing Field on Wednesday.

Led by maiden centuries from Kevyn Arnold and Kester Charlemagne and a half century from Jard Goodman, St. Mary’s College amassed an imposing 329 for 3 in their allotted 35 overs. Arnold led the scoring with a well played, disciplined knock of 104 not out which included 15 fours and a six. Charlemagne strokes an aggressive 100 with 8 sixes and 7 fours. Goodman batted well in making 70 which included 11 fours.

Chasing a daunting target of 330 for victory, Ciceron Secondary folded meekly as they were bowled out for 94 in 27.3 overs, with VeronPreville contributing 33 and Arkel Joseph 15.

For St. Mary’s College, the wickets were shared among Charlemagne who picked up 3 for 10 in 6 overs, Keeghan Patrick 2 for 10 in 5 overs, Rahym Joseph 2 for 14 in 4 overs, SimeonGerson 2 for 25 in 5 overs.

The Massy United Insurance man of the match went to Charlemagne for his good all round performance.

St.Mary’s College will now play Sir Arthur Lewis Community College for a finals spot.
