Jazz Fever!

THE 24th. St Lucia Jazz and Arts Festival kicked off at the Mindoo Phillip Park last Thursday evening and has been sizzling ever since,.

The first performances have already made huge impressions like the one at Soufriere on May Day evening which produced another bumper crowd.

But now that the show has started, it’s non stop action until the grand finale at the Pigeon Island National Landmark on Mothers Day, May 10. The first few days have gone down well and organizers are hoping that the rest of the festival follows that trend.

Here are some of the scenes and artistes from the Mindoo Phillip Park, Fond d’Or and Soufriere.

Stan Bishop began his career in journalism in March 2008 writing freelance for The VOICE newspaper for six weeks before being hired as a part-time journalist there when one of the company’s journalists was overseas on assignment.

Although he was initially told that the job would last only two weeks, he was able to demonstrate such high quality work that the company offered him a permanent job before that fortnight was over. Read full bio...
