Vieux Fort South, Marchand Football Results

FOOTBALL action in the Vieux Fort South competition will now shift to the Phillip Marcellin Grounds from today and according to the organizers matches will continue on Saturday and Sunday with double headers.

From 6.00 p.m. today Knights will take on Bruceville Strikers, while from 8:00 p.m. Up Town will come up against ShamballaShillioh.

On Saturday, from 6:00 p.m. ShamballaShillioh will play Stable Boys, and W. Mangue will face Platinum from 8:00.pm, while on Sunday, Up Town will play Knights from 5:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. Green Lake will come up against Square United.

Meanwhile, there were victories for Green Lake, Platinum and Stable Boys in matches played earlier this week at the Dames Playing Field in Vieux Fort.

Green Lake defeated Venom Strikers 4 – 2, Platinum won over Augier 4 – 1, while Stable Boys breezed past Veterans 2 – 0.

At Marchand, Match No. 45 in the Philip J. Pierre competition featured two teams still with a chance to make the quarter final stage. La Cou Do showed greater intent with a goal by Harlan Yard in the 5th minute. But Marchand Under – 18 continued to press on looking for the equalizer and with constant pressure was rewarded in the 11th minute with a goal from Jordan St. Ange to leave the half time score 1 – 1.

On the resumption, Richard Annius put Marchand 2 – 1 up from a shot just inside the 18 yard box. La Cou Do showed they were not about to give in got the equalizer in the 65th minute through a Linus Clarke free kick. Jordan St. Ange scored his second on the evening and seemed to have earned Marchand Under – 18’s maximum points in the 76th minute, but with 4 minutes left on the clock Ricky Ashely secured a point for La Cou Do when he scored in the 86th minute to level the sore 3 – 3.
