THE George Odlum Stadium at Vieux Fort will come alive today for Day 2 of the 2015 Inter secondary school Championships in the field events as the various athletes will participate in 19 finals.

The day will commence from 9.30 a.m. with the girls high jump under – 18, girls short put under – 18, girls discuss throw 18 years and over.

From 11.00 a.m. will see under – 18 boys battle it out in the high jump. Also taking place at the same time will be the boys discus throw 18 and over and girls long jump under -18.

To bring the curtains down on the pre lunch period will be the girls discuss throw under – 18, boys high jump 18 and over, boys long jump 18 and over, girls javelin throw 18 and over and a medal presentation.

The post lunch session will see the athletes compete in 9 finals scheduled to start from 1.30 p.m.

On Tuesday saw several schools from around the island participate in a series of qualifying rounds and finals. Here are some of the results on the day; in the girls 11 – 13 years high jump saw Nicole Ernest (1st SJC 1.47 metres), DesrayDesir (2nd SJC 1.47 metres). Girls long jump 11 – 13 years Kianne Benjamin (1st SJC 4.62 metres), Lizzie Alexander (2nd AnseGer Secondary 4.49 metres). Girls 14 -15 discus Britney Felix (1st Vieux Fort Comprehensive 22.77 metres), DelanaMathurin (2nd Leon Hess 20.62 metres).

Girls 14 – 15 javelin Quina Joseph ( 1stGros Islet Secondary 26.75 metres), Ronica Paul (2nd Leon Hess 26.56 metres). Boys 11 – 13 high jump Duran Clement (1st Vieux Fort Comprehensive 1.42 metres), Keyan Joseph (2nd AnseGer Secondary 1.39 metres). Boys 14- 15 javelin throw Devon Moise (1st Gros Islet Secondary 46.10 metres), Kenley Francis (2nd Choiseul Secondary 38.43 metres).

Long Jump boys Julien St. Rose (1st St.Mary’s College 6.16 metres).Long Jump girls Nysa Pierre (1st SJC 5.18 metres), DesrayDesir (2nd SJC 4.96 metres).

Meanwhile, the Interschool championship will shift into high gear next week Monday, Wednesday and Friday with the track events at the Beausejour Cricket Ground in Gros Islet.
