THE technical staff of the St.Lucia Football Association has called up a 38 member squad to continue preparations for three major upcoming football engagements.

Last Saturday saw members of the squard engage in a series of basic skills at the Gros Islet Playing Field

The squad will be under the watchful eyes of Head Coach Francis Lastic as training will continue every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The senior men’s team is preparing for their home and away FIFA World Cup Russia 2018 qualifier against Antigua and Barbuda in June. But before that they will play Guyana in Georgetown in an international friendly in a few days time. The home team will defend the Windward Islands title they won in 2014 in Dominica right here in St. Lucia from April 29 to May 3.

Also included in the squad are seven overseas players: Pernal Williams from L’Aiglon of Martinique and ZachaeusPolius from Antigua and Barbuda, W. Connection, TremainShayn Paul, Malik St. Prix and Kurt Frederick, and Lester Joseph and Jamil Joseph from Caledonia AIA.

The full training squad is: – Randy Poleon, SabbatusHunte, Sheldon Emmanuel, Alton Robert, RicksonAugustin, GervanJanvier, Erick Gabriel, Everton Lambert, Nyhime Gilbert, Levi Francis, Magnum Valcin, Gerlanne Neptune, Vernan Abbott, Eden Charles, Troy Greenidge, Emmery Edward, Romiel Felix, Jason Similien, Melvin Aurelien, Shawn Evans, JohnathanSymphorien, Travis Thomas, Danil Denis, Rommel Hippolyte, Kingsley Henry, Dwayne Jn Baptiste, Valdez Maximin, ShimronDemille, John Perry Joseph, SadicBertin and AkidModeste.

In FIFA’s latest ranking as of February 12, Antigua and Barbuda is at 90th, St. Lucia 140th, and Guyana 166th.
