NWU: Two Not Paying OT

THE National Workers Union (NWU) wants Minister of Labour, Robert Lewis to look into what it says is an industrial discrepancy by two major companies on the island.

The NWU claimed that the two major companies were not paying overtime compensation to their employees.

The letter went on to point out that time and one half, double time and triple time pay during week days, Sundays and public holidays were not being honoured.

“The NWU believes that it is unfair to hunt down small businesses operating in the country for overtime payments due to workers, while these two major companies operating right under our nostrils are allowed to continue this industrial lawlessness’, the Union said.

The NWU said it was awaiting a positive response from Lewis, “bearing in mind that these industrial atrocities are happening under his watch”.
