Climate Change Education For Schools

THE Ministry of Sustainable Development, Energy, Science and Technology, the Ministry of Forestry, the St. Lucia National Trust and The St. Lucia Solid Waste Management Authority are providing information to students of schools islandwide on healthy lifestyles.

Presentations were made to students of the Anglican Infant and Primary Schools and the Methodist Primary School on Wednesday by representatives of the ministries and organisations to educate the students on the effects of removal of trees which may cause landslides, indiscrimate dumping of garbage and the genetically modified organisms in foods.

The students were entertained with portrayals by mascots on the different presentations and prizes were also given out to students who gave the correct answers to questions following the different presentations.

The education process will continue with visits to the Morne du Don, Vide Bouteille and SDA schools next Tuesday and other schools in the coming months.
