TIS the season for giving and CIBC FirstCaribbean has pledged to support the Salvation Army in a big way!

CIBC FirstCaribbean has recently made a donation to the Salvation Army in support of its annual red kettle drive, which deprived families during the season by providing food, clothing, shelter and counselling.

This year the Salvation Army has set a goal to deliver over 550 food-hampers to families in disadvantaged areas throughout St. Lucia in an effort to spread the joy and goodwill synonymous with this time of year. On hand to receive the CIBC/FCIB donation were Michael Burns, Chairman of the Salvation Army Advisory Board and Captain Dwayne Broome.

Portia Compton-James, Manager Retail Banking and Operations, emphasized the importance of the donation stating, “It is only fitting that we at CIBC FirstCaribbean assist the Salvation Army in achieving their goal as throughout the years the organization has made such a positive impact on the lives of families in our communities. We are serious about responding to the needs of our communities and are committed to giving back in tangible ways. Our support of the Salvation Army is therefore in tune with our promise of being ‘first for communities’. We urge the wider public to participate as well and donate as much as you can to the kettle drive. The red kettles can be found at most populated locations and are characterised by the merry ringing of a bell to call attention to passers-by.”

For information on how you can support or volunteer with the Salvation Army please contact Captain Dwayne Broome at 452-3108, [email protected] or at our office on 12-14 High Street Castries.
