Keyaughn and Latoya rule!

District One comprising of Primary Schools in the Babonneau and Gros Islet area staged its annual Road Race on Friday 27th January 2012. The vent saw well over one hundred participants comprising eighty males and thirty three females all of whom completing the course.
The event commenced just outside the Dame Pearlette Primary School along the Mount Serpent – Degazon Road, onto the Grande Riviere Road, then along the Corinth Road to end on the Corinth Playing Field.
The Race was very keenly contested and both the athletes and schools must be complimented for a fine showing. The first Male to complete the course was Keyaughn Wilson of the Boguis Primary School, in a time of 20 minutes 20.89 seconds, Wilson was followed by Cadji Michel of Dame Pearlette Louisy in a time of 20 minutes 10.85 seconds; Garvin Inglis of Monchy Primary 20 minutes 31.90 seconds; Oliver Devaux of Montesorri Private School was fourth across the finish line in a time of 20 minutes 43.34 secs; Dillan Edwards of Dame Pearlette Louisy fifth in a time of 21 minutes 40.87 secs; and Darian Moffat of Balata Combined round up the top six places in a time of 21 minutes 12.96 seconds.

 
 

Gros Islet Primary took the first three places in the female category, first across the finish line was Latoya Victor in a time of 22 minutes 05 seconds; Julie Richelieu in a time of 23 minutes 32 seconds; while Gisele Felicien secured the third spot in a time 23 minutes 36 seconds; fourth place went to Aalijah Estephan of Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School in a time of 27 minutes 13 seconds; Lovina Mathurin of La Guerre Primary and Starlear Joseph of Fond Assou Combined competed the course in a time of 27 minutes 43 seconds and 27 mins. 53 seconds respectively.
Meanwhile, the Organisers would like to thank all those who made the event possible namely – The Royal St.Lucia Police Force Outriders, St, St. Lucia Red Cross, Officials, Corinth Secondary School, Corinth Management Committee, Schools and Staff, Parents and every one who in one way or the other contributed to the success of the 2012 Road Race.
