Dylan Mauricette and Jonathan Bruce Top Junior Golf

The St. Lucia Junior Golf Club held its first medal tournament for 2012 on Saturday 28th January at the picturesque St. Lucia Golf Club in Cap Estate. The weekend event saw a number of the Island up and coming golfers in action.
The tournament which teed off at 10:30am with the advanced players playing 18 holes while the intermediate/ beginner teed off at 1:40pm playing 9 holes respectively.
Present on the day were the coaches, parents and golf enthusiast who came out to see the young and aspiring golfers play under tournament conditions. Despite the humid conditions in the Beginners/Intermediate Division, Dylan Mauricette maintain his composure to capture the 1st place, Tiala Scott 2nd and Zanaii Taylor 3rd. In the Advance Division, Jonathan Bruce was a class act as he went on to win the 1st place, Bruce also claimed the top spot for the Longest Drive on the course, Daron Mauricette 2nd and Tyrik Belle secured the third place silverware.

 
 

Meanwhile, Professional Golfer Tim Mangal says that, The St. Lucia Junior Golf Club will in the near future adding to its stable a new age group that will represent the 4 - 6 year olds in an effort to complement its ages 7 - 18 year olds. More information on this new development will be available as the details are currently being finalized by SLJGC.
The St.Lucia Junior Golf Club is coached by two of St. Lucia’s top golf professionals, Tim Mangal and Chris Taylor. Any parents interested in their child joining the club can visit The St. Lucia Golf Club at Cap Estate and register with the Secretary Danille Morille. The club meets every Wednesday and Friday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm and tee’s off on Saturday’s commencing from 3:00 pm.
