CCSS class against Bocage

There was no stopping the Castries Comprehensive Secondary this time around as they went on to secure a qualifying spot for the knock - out stage of the 2010 United Insurance under-19 schools cricket championship when they crushed Bocage Secondary School by a massive 144 runs at the Balata Playing Field.
Under perfect weather and playing conditions CCSS won the toss and elected to bat first. Their batting again was led by Shervon Jean who scored a magnificent 123, that included 19 exquisite fours and one towering six. This was the second century for Jean in this year’s tournament, as he recently compiled a classy 112 versus Sir Ira Simmons. On the trot he was ably supported by Dexter Solomon 35 Stephen Naitram 31, national under – 15 cricket Captain Larry Edward who played well for his 28 and Leontius Joseph chipped in with 24.
Bowling for Bocage, Yan Desriviere bagged 4 for 69, Foyon Moise 2 for 40, Orie Changoo 2 for 51 and Darrell Jules 2 for 79.

 
 

In reply Bocage Secondary could only muster 123. Stanley Cherry top scored with 45, Mekel Donavan and Curtly Edmund chipped in with 17 and 12.
Dillan Baptiste led the bowling honours for CCSS picking up 3 for 23; while Shervon Jean and Larry Edward continuing their all round performances took 2 for 9 and 2 for 31 respectively.
Meanwhile, the Department of Youth and Sports would like to express its condolences to the family of Miguel Houson who died by drowning on Sunday 7th March 2010 at the Grande Anse Beach. Miguel was a student of the George Charles Secondary School and represented them with distinction in both the under - 19 Cricket and Football tournaments organized by the Department of Youth and Sports.
