SLNCA U-19 Tournament at Q/F stage

The first phase of the SLNCA Inter District Under - 19 cricket competition concluded last weekend with wins for Gros Islet, Central Castries, Soufriere and Mon Repos. Presently eight teams have qualified for the second phase of the competition (quarter finals) which will be played on a Knock Out basis and contested over a two day period.
The quarter finals will be played on Sunday 14th and Monday 15th March at various venues on the island.
The quarter final line up is as follows:- 2009 runners up Choiseul takes on Central Castries, 2009 defending champions Gros Islet will come up against Laborie/Soufriere. Micoud will fancy their chances versus South Castries, while Mabouya Valley will want nothing less than a victory against Mon Repos.

 
 

Meanwhile, in preparation for the 2010 Windward Inlands Under – 19 tournament scheduled to commence in 22 days time, the first of two trial matches will be played this weekend at the ever populari Belair Playing Field between Group A – comprising players from Gros Islet, Babonneau, Central Castries and Group D - comprising players from South Castries, Anse La Raye and Mabouya.
According to the SLNCA the second trial game is scheduled for Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th March at the Piaye Playing Field between Group A – comprising players from Choiseul, Soufriere, Laborie and Group C - comprising players from Micoud, Mon Repos and Dennery.
The 2010 Windward Islands under – 19 cricket tournament is scheduled for St.Vincent and the Grenadines starting Sunday 28th March - Thursday 9th April 8th 2010.
