Big win for Corinth Secondary over Gros Islet

A fine all round performance from Windward Islands under-15 opening batsman Taryck Gabriel propelled Corinth Secondary to a convincing 118 run victory over Gros Islet Secondary, in the United Insurance under - 19 school’s cricket championship that was held at the Balata Playing Field under perfect weather condition.
Gros Islet won the toss and elected to send Corinth into bat. Led by a well played 67 from Gabriel, Corinth was finally dismissed for 227 runs in 35 overs. Also getting amongst the runs was Vidal Crandon that gave good support with 31, while Emish Prospere chipped in with 28.
Bowling for Gros Islet Caster James bagged 5 for 37; Jamerson Aurelien 3 for 54 and Eugene Dummerville 2 for 27 respectively.
When Gros Islet replied they were routed for 109 in 22 overs. Pascal Mathurin was the only batsman to offer any resistance scoring 31. Taryck Gabriel was in fine form with the ball taking 5 for 73. St. Lucia under 15 leg spinner Erickson Reid picked - up 3 for 5 and Richard Surage 2 for 15.
