Shortened from last year’s home-and-away round–robin format because of funding issues, 21 matches will be played over a two–month period. The 2009 WICB four day regional cricket tournament bowls off tomorrow Friday 8th - 11th January in Jamaica. Interestingly day/night fixtures are slated for Antigua, Barbados, Guyana, and St. Lucia respectively.
Home team Jamaica will begin their title defence against the Windward Islands at Chedwin Park, Trinidad and Tobago plays Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC) at Jarrett Park, while Barbados will be up against the Leeward Islands at Kensington Park, Guyana gets the bye in the first round.
The excitement will switched to the Leeward Islands for Round 2 of the tournament slated for Friday 15th -18th January, Jamaica will fancy their chances against the host at Warner Park, St Kitts, Barbados will want nothing less than a win versus CCC at Grove Park, Nevis, rivals Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago will square off at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua, while the bye goes to the Windward Islands.
Bridgetown is expected to come alive as Barbados will host Round 3 this time around scheduled for Friday 22nd – Monday 25th, for the many coming to lend their support will see Barbados against Trinidad and Tobago at Kensington Oval, the Windward Islands will come up against CCC at 3Ws Oval, Jamaica plays Guyana at Foursquare Park, St Philip, while the Leeward Islands takes the bye.

 
 

The action is expected to heat up in Round 4 scheduled for Friday 29th January – Monday 1st February in Barbados (hosted by CCC). The host CCC takes on Guyana at 3Ws Oval, Trinidad and Tobago will be up against the Leeward Islands at Foursquare Park, St Philip, while the Windward Islands plays Barbados at Kensington Oval, bye: Jamaica.
Friday 12th – Monday 15th February will see the commencement of Round 5 in Guyana. Guyana versus Barbados at Albion, CCC versus Jamaica at National Stadium, Providence. It’s the battle of the Lesser Antilles as the Leeward Islands takes on the Windward Islands at the famous Bourda Grounds. With the bye going out to Trinidad and Tobago. Round 6: will bowl off on Friday 19th – Monday 22nd February in the twin Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the host nation will be expected to leave no stone unturned as they take on the Windward Islands at Queen’s Park Oval. The rivalry will continue between Barbados and Jamaica at UWISPEC, while Guyana takes on the Leeward Islands at National Cricket Centre, bye: CCC.
The final round of competition is scheduled for Friday 26th February – Monday 1st March in the Windward Islands, Guyana takes on the host at Grenada National Stadium, Trinidad and Tobago plays Jamaica at Progress Park, Grenada, CCC will come up against the Leeward Islands at Beausejour, while Barbados will settle for the Bye.
