Cornelius Butcher
again hammered one to goal that came off the
Dennery goalkeeper and into the laps of #
17 Shane Paul who made no mistake hitting
it to the back of the nets to start the celebration.
Micoud ‘s second goal which was the
eventual winner came in the 90th minute again
as Shane Paul doubled his scoring on the fourth
official result sheet, this time with a low
shot that beat the Dennery second string keeper.
It was a ding dong battle for procession.
The Dennery team was under real pressure,
and after Micoud skipper Nathan Justin had
blazed a half-chance over the bar, at one
stage the Micoud team in turn had a great
chance to equalize but missed out on a header
that came from a corner.
The Micoud custodian Mason produced a superb
save to tip away Dennery’s effort, before
Levi Gilbert fired just over the crossbar.
With time running out on the clock Dennery’s
# 15 Hirum Hunte and # 2 Kurt Frederick tried
their luck, while Donavan Sealy had a good
shout for a penalty following a challenge
from a Micoud player inside the area.
As Denney’s brief glimmer of hope faded
away so too did the sunshine in the distance
when Referee Gordon Wilson finally blews his
whistle to signal the end of regulation time.
Today, Saturday 13th February the SLFA train
will travel to the Community of Mon Repos
for its second semi final match up this time
in an all Castries derby. That is when highly
fancied Central Castries is expected to leave
no stone unturned when they take on Marchard
in a City thriller scheduled for 4:00 pm at
