Heineken St. Lucia Open Golf Championships 2008

Heineken is proud to re-affirm its continued support to the St. Lucia Golf Association by sponsoring the upcoming Heineken St. Lucia Open 2008. This is Heineken’s 15th year as the signature sponsor of this tournament which is scheduled to take place from April 18th – 20th 2008 at the newly built St. Lucia Golf Club House.
There will be four categories of play this year - Men, Senior Men, Super Senior Men and Ladies. To date entries are pouring in from all over the Caribbean and as far away as Florida. There are 98 players registered so far with at least another 30 expected. The practice day will be held on Friday April 18th as the tournament officially kicks off on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April.

The Opening Ceremony takes place on Friday 18th from 7.00p.m. at the Club House with opening speeches from the Minister for Sports, Hon. Lenard Montoute and Mr. Jonathan Hall, Managing Director for Windward and Leeward Brewery Ltd.
Preparations are well underway as organisers are working closely with presenting Sponsors, Heineken to ensure that this world class tournament is well executed. Other partners include the St. Lucia Golf Club, Scotia Bank and The Village Inn and Spa where most of the overseas competitors will stay during their visit to St. Lucia.
The Heineken St. Lucia Open is expected to attract players from St. Lucia, the Caribbean Region and North America making it quite competitive. Organizers of the event have promised a great tournament for that weekend filled with great golfers, fun and excitement.
