Mandela Clifford Missed Out

Freshman sprinter St. Lucian born Mandela Clifford of Mid -America Nazarene University just missed out on the NAIA finals (and the opportunity to become an All-American) in the 60m dash.
The several times St. Lucia National Champion and former Morne Stars team captain ran a season-best 6:83 seconds in the semi final; the national record is 6.66.

According to the President and IAFF qualifying coach of the Morne Stars Athletics Club Terry Finisterre, Clifford should easily break the 6.66 record in 2009, health permitting. Now it’s on to the outdoor season, where one of Mandela Clifford’s main goals will be running 10:28 seconds or faster where he hopes to qualify for the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing, China.
