RJM
Systems, Inc. Provides Expanded Services in the Caribbean
Connecticut,
USA, October 26, 2007. RJM Systems is pleased to announce
that long-time customer Sir Arthur Lewis Community College
in St. Lucia has recently upgraded to SONISWEB. Now students,
faculty, and staff at Sir Arthur Lewis can access integrated
student, course, and administrative information independently
from any location around the world by using the internet.
“We worked closely with the college to provide a web-based
system that would meet the needs of the college while keeping
the cost affordable,” said Joanne Milburn, CEO. “This
is part of our growing focus on serving the Caribbean tertiary
education market.”
Over the past 5 years, RJM Systems has been steadily growing
its international customer base. In addition to serving colleges
in Canada and Europe, they have expan!
ded to serve three Caribbean colleges—Sir Arthur Lewis
(St. Lucia), H. Lavity Stoutt Community College (Tortola),
and Antigua and Barbuda International Institute of Technology
(Antigua).
From their American-based offices in Connecticut and North
Carolina, RJM Systems provides comprehensive training and
ongoing support to their customers around the world. “We
don’t distinguish between international clients and
American in terms of travel,” says Milburn, who personally
visits each college at least once during RJM System’s
multiple onsite visits to set up the system and train staff.
“Distance hasn’t factored in at all in resolving
problems,” says Emma Baker, Director of the Office of
Institutional Planning and Effectiveness at H. Lavity Stoutt.
“When we send an email or make a phone call, we usually
get a response the same day and have the problem figured out
within 24 hours.”
In addition to setting up 24/7 support to deal with any time
differences, RJM Systems has made other !
adaptations to better serve its international clientele.
Many
elements of the database are flexible to accommodate the needs
of those in other countries. For instance, address formats
are not restricted to states and zip codes, and phone numbers
are free-form so that numbers of any length can be entered.
For small to medium size colleges looking to provide comprehensive
services to the 21st century academic community, SONISWEB
provides a complete, robust, affordable system that’s
easy to access from anywhere in the world.
“Since the new generation of students is used to having
24-hour access to information, SONISWEB helps us meet their
expectations,” says Baker.
