Two weeks ago the senior management team of Digicel St. Lucia decided to take a leap back in time and staged a ‘Back to School fashion’ show to help generate funds for the relief efforts for the Haitian people (the Help Haiti Relief Fund).
The day started off as a typical hectic Friday at the Gros Islet head office of the Bigger, Better Network. Digicel team members were happily looking forward to the weekend ahead but not before a highly advertised, one of a kind ‘Back to School’ fashion show was scheduled to hit the runway of the Digicel main office. This highly anticipated fashion show which was the brain child of senior level managers, was a fund raiser designed to take a sneak peek at the past schools attended by them.
A quick introduction was given and the first model to hit the runway was Digicel St Lucia’s Country Manager Mr. Keigan Cox dressed in his Anglican uniform right down to the three quarter green shorts, knee high socks and lunch kit, ready for his first day in stage one. Many schools were represented from all levels starting with primary, secondary right up to the Sir Arthur Community College. What a funny and nostalgic moment it was as one by one the managers strutted in their old school uniforms right down to the most microscopic details. This was the perfect atmosphere for all as every Senior Level manager or director engaged in such a worthwhile venture.

Digicel’s General Manager Geraldine Pitt said “This is just one of the many ventures that the Digicel team will be pursuing to raise funds for the Haiti Relief Fund. In addition to our customer promotions to help Haiti, we also encourage our staff to be proactive as well.”
Digicel markets across the region also took part in a variety of initiatives to raise money for the Digicel Haiti Relief Fund. In the Bermuda market the staff mixed matched their work attire, with crazy colour clothing and different shoes. In the British Virgin Islands the staff sold roses to corporate offices and patrons to help Haiti. These were a few of the innovative ideas which were executed for the Haiti Relief fund.
Digicel would like to urge all St. Lucians to continue to assist the people of Haiti Digicel by texting the word “HELP” to ‘5151’ or call the number ‘5151’ to donate $1 per call or text message. If customers would like to donate even more to the Relief fund, text the word “HELP” to ‘5152’ or call the number ‘5152’ to donate $5 per call.
