Levern Graces
Directory Cover
Saint
Lucia and the Caribbean’s best high-jumper,
Levern Spencer became the youngest person ever
to grace the covers of LIME Services Directory,
appearing on the company’s 2010 publication.
The directory was unveiled Tuesday at the Babonneau
Primary School, the primary school she attended
and where her abilities in that sport were first
recognized.
Spencer, as a result of this, finds herself
in a league which includes DereK Walcott, Dame
Sessene Descarte, Sir Dunstan St Omer, Barbara
Cadet and Ronald ‘Boo’ Hinkson,
all being Saint Lucians who have reached excellence
in their respective fields of endeavour and
all having graced the covers of the directory.
“Having her on the cover is not only a
tribute to her outstanding achievements but
a demonstration of faith in the ability of Saint
Lucia’s youths to reach the top and excel,”
Sean Auguste said Tuesday at the unveiling.
Spencer is originally from Babonneau. She attended
the Babonneau Primary School, Entrepot Secondary,
Albany State College and the University of Georgia.
Her high jump records include the Saint Lucia
national record and records for CARICOM, CARIFTA
Games and Central American and Caribbean Senior
Championships.
