Man sentenced to
4 years imprisonment for possession of cocaine
and cannabis
The
legislation, with no reasonable doubt, tends
to believe that, upon conviction, individuals
charged with the same offence should be sentenced
equally. Although the period classified for
class A drugs is 7 years imprisonment or a fine
of $200,000, Cuthbert Felix, who was charged
with the offence of possession of cocaine and
cannabis, and later found guilty on Tuesday
3rd August 2010, was given 4 years on each count,
his sentences to run concurrently.
In my previous article, “Wooden house
with cocaine and cannabis recovered on farm”,
the defendant was escorted to his farm about
½ mile away from his home. The farm consisted
of banana trees, pig pen and a wooden house
on pillars. Officer St Rose forced a metal lever
to open the latch which was secured by a padlock
since the defendant claimed that he had no keys
for the door.
