John Laforce Passes Away

The North Castries Constituency Branch of the UWP lost a stalwart in the person of Mr. John La Force who passed away on Sunday 2nd March 2008. John La Force was an executive member of the Castries North Constituency and the Administrator of the Castries North Constituency Office from June to September 2007.
John served in the Public Health Department of the Ministry of Health for a long period before taking up an appointment in the Castries City Council dealing with public health issues. He was also instrumental in the setup of the St. Lucia Planned Parenthood Association commonly known as “Family Planning”.

When John returned home from the USA in 2006, after spending 7 years there working in the airline industry, he expressed his delight in being able to once again make a contribution to his homeland. This desire led to his being a key member of the UWP’s Castries North campaign team of 2006.
He was a resident of Upper Morne Du Don and the owner of the Tree House which was his pride and joy. John cultivated many friendships and was respected for all of his forthright views on issues.
John leaves to mourn his wife and 4 children and many relatives and friends. The Parliamentary Representative and Constituents of Castries North, have lost a friend and servant. Our prayers are with his family at this time. He will be truly missed.
John will be buried on Thursday 13th March 2008.
