Grow Well Has Book Sale to benefit Youth

The Grow Well Centre in Gros Islet held its popular annual Grand Book Sale on Saturday April 5 at JQ’s Rodney Bay Mall from 9 am to 1 pm. Grow Well volunteers work year-round cataloguing books for its popular Library on Church Street in Gros Islet, and also selecting books for the sale. Last week, volunteers met on mornings to sort and price about 50 boxes of books. Proceeds of the sale benefit programmes to help the youth of Gros Islet.
The book sale featured lots of best-selling authors, thrillers and romance novels, children’s books and non-fiction books in all categories, from biographies and cookbooks to nature, science, sports and arts and crafts. Major Grow Well sponsors include The Landings and the Rotary Club of Gros Islet. “It’s absolutely the best book sale in St. Lucia,” said Susan Guillaume, Grow Well Treasurer. “We received donations of books for the sale from many wonderful people in St. Lucia, and we thank Sunshine Bookshop for its superb cooperation.”
